This trail was a CN Railway route that was no longer in use. Several Okanagan jurisdictions got together, organized and purchased the CN Railway route to convert it to a public accessed trail.
Construction of the Rail Trail began in 2017 and expected to finished Sept 30th 2018. Engineering the construction was to address many factors as drainage, wear, safety from hazards, environmental factors and ease of use. The finished trail should allow access for families with strollers, wheel chairs and a greater variety of bicycles, while at the same time be durable with long wear and minimal maintenance.
